Bridging the gap between library and commercial music
BITE HARD was the brainchild of staff members working in de Wolfe Music’s New York office who recognized the need to bridge the gap between library music and commercial music. The idea was simple: create new music that could be synced in a video production as easily as it could be placed in a Spotify playlist. As we sat on a treasure trove of vintage records, it dawned on us that we should do what countless artists and producers have done with our music - sample it. We partnered with both established and up-and-coming artist to release our first trilogy of records, The Art of the Sample, before reaching out to a variety of artists across the country in order to create a truly unique, genre-spanning catalog of music.
BITE HARD sits as a hybrid between a production music library and a record label. All of our music is available for simple one-stop clearance in a traditional library model, but we have also partnered with distributors to release our new records and re-release our cult classic albums on vinyl. This allows us to continue to push the boundaries of library music and evolve the model that de Wolfe Music first invented over 100 years ago.
